THIRTEEN

CAUTION....NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!

Today I got an alarming text from my husband..."I need stitches, I'm fine but where are we covered." Does he not know who he is married to? I was a little worried to say the least! Apparently he was showing the boys had to block and decided he needed to be in the middle of the play...you know when big boys wearing big pads and hard helmets run at each other and try to knock the other one down...yeah he decided to be in the middle of that! One of the boys hit him a little to hard and at the right angle and sliced his ear lobe three-quarters of the way through! It was pretty bad! When we went to the Insta Care all the doctors, nurses, EMT staff, and receptionists that were on duty came into the room to take a look. Dusty's doctor said it had been a slow day so he was happy for the excitement. I can not say I felt the same way. The cut was so deep that originally the doctor wanted to refer us to a plastic surgeon. To which dusty replied "no thanks I am a man." Boys will be boys! So the doctor stitched him up...THIRTEEN TIMES... it was actually really neat they let me watch the whole time. It wasn't fun for Dusty since numbing the ear is pretty difficult, he made it though, even through two needles and a couple of stitches with out anesthetic, again his reply "I am a man." I can't say that I am surprised this happened, really Dusty is just an accident waiting to happen! He should be confined to a bubble. Hopefully he will be able to stay out of the emergency room for the rest of the season...cross your fingers!
