Flying Solo

This week was my first week as the lead teacher...not what I signed up for when I took the job as the TEACHERS ASSISTANT...however I have learned nothing in life is what I have signed up for, now that is what we should be teaching! It was BEYOND stressful but it was so much fun. My theme for the week was transportation and I was able to do a lot of fun things. Today was my favorite (partly because it means the week is over) I introduced my four/five your olds to maps! Dusty thought that was funny me trying to teach anyone about maps...but it was a success! I had the kids draw a map on a huge piece of butcher paper and then we talked about what they drew on the map. The kids thought that was the neatest thing ever! This job has been very humbling and rewarding, I am so glad I took the leap of faith. I have learned so much, but most importantly that I DO NOT want to be a preschool teacher for the rest of my life :) I can do without dealing with accidents on a weekly basis! It definitely is the right place for me now but I cant wait until I can actually be a counselor and make more of a difference!
