Sunny San Diego Spring Break 2011

We spent Spring Break 2011 in somewhat sunny San Diego, and we LOVED it! It was a very last minute trip, we had been thinking about going somewhere for a while but finally decided Friday we would go, we left Monday! It was a much needed get away. I was so nervous for how Dean would be on the airplane, but he did amazing! The way there he was a perfect little baby playing with anything he could get his hands on! The way back he slept the entire ride home, how did we get so lucky? When flew into Long Beach on Monday and headed for Del Mar, where we decided we would like to call home! It was beautiful, we spent the night on the beach and walking around the cute little beach town. The next day we went to Sea World (Dusty's first time). It was really fun, I wasn't sure about Sea World but it turned out to be really fun, Dean loved the seals and splashing in the dolphin water. His favorite was the shark exhibit, we were laughing as he couldn't take his eyes of those scary creatures! The next day was a little rainy so we drove around Carlsbad and found a little surf shop where dusty rented a body board. We then drove to Old Town and walked around. We bought Dean a maraca and he loved it...a little too much as he licked off the red paint! After Old Town we headed to Coronado, another place we would love to call home, and spent the rest of the night on the beach where dusty practiced his best bay watch impressions! The next day we headed to Down Town San Diego to the pier, a place we never want to call home, to go on a whale watching excursion. It was disappointing to say the least, we did however get a coupon for another excursion! Our last day we took our time heading back to Long Beach, we stopped in Oceanside and had lunch at Beach Cafe, it was our favorite place. We had a few hours to waste so we headed back to the beach for one last time. Dean LOVED the beach, every time we put him down in the sand he smiled and laughed and immediately began playing, he loved the water too. We had to constantly keep him out of it so he wouldn't get swept away! We had such a fun trip we would love to make it our annual spring break get away, next year were going to add Disneyland!

Daddy keeping Baby Dean safe and out of the water...easier said than done!

Happiest little baby boy in the world!

Giving mommy kisses at Sunset...I could get used to that everyday!

Dean's first time at the beach, he found a shell and couldn't resist putting it in his mouth!
