Were telling jokes....
This post is a little late...but better late than never! Last weekend I headed down to FILLMORE with the coach and his team-don’t make fun-but I rode down on the bus..boy did it bring back some memories..it wasn’t what I would call a good time..but I had fun and I got to sit in the same seat with a boy :) On the drive down our bus was having some over heating issues, the bus driver decided he would take it to the bus garage to get it fixed-ok bus driver that is your job. So the team wrestled and wrestled and wrestled and got a little beat up, the Iron Man Duels consist of some very TOUGH teams, but those boys fought pretty hard. I was sooooo impressed with the boys, I have been around wrestling for a little while and I know when someone is wrestling with all they got, and these boys did, they wrestled harder and harder every match. They wrestled five matches on Friday night and then had another five matches on Saturday. I am really surprised at how much fun I had with the coach and his team, I learned ALOT-more than I ever thought I would want to know about wrestling...and its only the beginning! By Saturday afternoon everyone was ready to go home..we were out of there by 5:30. Remember the issues the bus was having on the drive down...well they never got fixed. So EVERY 20 minutes we had to pull over and wait 20-30 minutes for the bus to cool down...yeah it took us over FIVE hours to get home...that was not fun, although it gave me a chance to get to know the boys a little better. I think I have said this before but I am really impressed with these boys! On one of our many “breaks from driving” we stopped at a gas station that had a very TINY snack shack..try and picture about 15 boys in a 10x10 room with a cash register that took up half...it was pretty funny. Not all of us could fit into the room at once so we had grouped by the door and were talking. While we were standing there a car pulled up with two boys and a girl...and as teenage boys do one said “how much would you give me to go and start cleaning their windows” and they all started laughing and joking around...then a loud voice from the car yells “is something funny over there” and without a beat one of the wrestlers yells back in the most innocent voice ever “yeah were telling jokes.” I couldn’t stop laughing it was hilarious, the boys in the car rolled up the windows and never bothered us again! Even though the drive home took us forever I had fun spending time with the coach! Tonight is the first Region match against Northridge! Go Falcons! And if any of you need to get some service hours in this Christmas Season..we are having the JV tournament on Saturday and would love all the help we can get...we will even feed you!
